Age 14

Write my Essay on School Report - English

Dance Country Salsa

S.T.E.P.S courses Cha Chaing, Dress making, Make up class, Music and long course Dance.

Cha Cha class

Teacher Madame Hoops

Alice's work has come on brilliantly. Her cha-cha has improved at an amazing pace and her points are fantastic. Her timing and pauses are unfaultable and even though her beat counting can be a bit poor, her natural talent at everything else makes up for it but it still needs some work for her to be at a professional level. Her homework is always handed in on time and I feel she puts her best effort forward when completing the work. Well done Alice!!! Keep up the excellent work.

Effort A Ability A- Behaviour B+

Dress making class

Teacher Madame Jives

Alice's dress making skills have been a bit of a let down. Her hemming has been to the lowest standard and I am sure she could do a lot better if she put more effort into her work. Her sequin stitching is rather patchy (literally). Her behaviour is not doing her any favours as I have been forced to issue her with weeks worth of after school detentions previously. Alice needs to personally take a better view on this class as if she doesn't she may fail her S.T.E.P.S and that would be a great shame.

Effort B- Ability B Behaviour C+

Make up class

Teacher Madame Shadow

This is one of Alice's classes which she isn't brilliant at but she knows she is capable of doing it to sufficient satisfaction. Her eyeliner skills are completely up to scratch and her blush application is superb. I feel her effort is at the up most and her mind probably feels she is doing her best but she needs a bit of practice before she brings her self up to S.T.E.P.S level.

Effort A Ability B Behaviour A

Music

Teacher Professor Sprout

Alice has a good grasp of the skills needed for time-keeping and piano skills. Her chords are to at an ok stage in her learning and I feel with further education in this subject she could be suited to a job in music for example taking a gap year in the world of music. She can play three instruments; flute, violin and piano and is currently learning the basics of the art of drum playing. Her behaviour is alright, although she can be quite chatty when she wants to be which lets her reputation down. Over all she is a good student and has some good skills to work on.

Effort B Ability B Behaviour B

Long course dance

Teacher Madame Jackson

There is not much I can say about Alice's dancing as it is impeccable in the sense that it is perfect. I feel she made the right decision in taking the long course dance as if she had taken the short course dance we would not have seen her full dancing potential. Yet again this year her effort and behaviour has been to the highest standard- even though I strongly disagree with favouritism I have to admit that Alice is one of the most hardworking pupils in all the years that I teach. What more can I say you can't fault her. Keep it up Alice and some amazing prospects could be coming your way.

Red Badge Of Courage

1. Henry starts out on the farm where he wants to fight in a war. He then signs up for the army and is involved in the war. The first battle he deserts his soldiers. In between this time whole time he is meeting new people. Most of them are in the war for the same reason he is. He witnesses some people die in the war and fears for his life. In the second battle he is considered a hero. The setting was in a forest, where all the fighting took place. The author describes the forest exactly the way it would look. The whole book is in a time span of two days of fighting. It never goes on to show how the war ends.

. Henry was very scared for his life in his first battle. He deserted the battle because he thought he was going to be killed. In his next battle he took risks and didn't doubt that he had power over the soldiers he was fighting. He still thought about dieing but not the way he did in the previous battle.

. Henry never admits to deserting the other soldiers in the first day of battle. He tells them that the injury to his head is a battle wound, not from an argument he got in with another soldier. He feels very guilty about deserting the battle so the next day he is always on the front line and encouraging his other soldiers to fight harder.

Nature- () similes () metaphors (1) personification

Machine-(0) similes (5 metaphors (0) personifications

Animal-5 similes (5)metaphors () personifications

Religious- No similes or personifications, one metaphor

One conclusion that can be drawn from this is that the author uses metaphors more the anything else. One animals and nature he uses many different styles of writing while on things like religion he just writes the literature straight forward.

5. The language used by Henry and the other characters are basically southern farm accents. This might show that the characters are not actually brave men who wanted to go into battle to serve their country. It shows that they just wanted to get off the farms and fought mostly for the adrenaline rush.

6.Verbs-reluctantly, resting, thrilled, fighting, shooting

Adjectives-cold, hostile, tall, bloody, patriot

Nouns-road, bank, Henry, soldiers, farm

A conclusion that can be drawn is that the author Stephen Crane is very detailed and paints out pictures in each sentence to try and let the reader have an image in his mind of what is being described.

Essay

The main theme in this book is that Henry and his fellow soldiers weren't actually the kind of men they seemed to be during the battles. They are portrayed as courageous soldiers fighting for their country. Most of them however, just fought for the adrenaline. Henry personally wanted to fight just to get off the farm and because he thought he would be surrounded by girls for his heroism. He also fought with such courage because he was very angry at himself for deserting the battle the first time. Henry is even complimented by the colonel during the second battle for being so brave. It shows that war brought out a different personality on Henry and the soldiers. They aren't really the men that they were during the war but the act of fighting in a war showed another side. If the men stopped during the war to think about what they were doing and to look around them at all the other men that were dieing each minute, they would have fled just like Henry did at the first battle.

Communism and Animal Farm

Imagine if you are one of the animals on Animal Farm. You stage a revolution to free yourself of Farmer Jones so that you can have rights. You will be tricked into thinking you are in a socialist government where everyone is equal, when in fact, you are in a communist government where there is a cruel leader. As an animal you will be treated unfairly not just once but many times by Napoleon, a pig, and by the other pigs who slowly take control of all the animals living on the farm, so that they could have absolute power.

One of the inequalities in Animal Farm is how the animals get less food then the pigs. One of the times where this happens is the milk and apples incident. This is the first sign of corruption. While the animals go out to harvest the fields, they leave Napoleon with the milk. They are surprised to find out the milk has disappeared. Later on this is all justified when Squealer a pig says, "Our sole object in taking these things is to preserve our health…. Do you know what would happen if we failed in our duty? Jones would come back!" (5) In other words, the pigs should deserve better than the rest of the animals because they are protecting the other animals. None of the animals like Jones, so they agree. 1

Order Custom COMMUNISM AND ANIMAL FARM paper

Another act of inequality is the way the animals have to work, while the pigs just supervise and don't have to earn their privileges. For instance, the animals have to work

for food, if they don't work they don't get food, while the pigs always get food. Towards the end of the book Orwell writes, "…[O]ut came Napoleon himself, he carried a whip in his trotter."(1). This tells how the pigs started using whips to get the animals to work.

Initially all the animals are equal, and the commandments are made for every animal to follow. The commandments are

1. Whatever goes upon two legs is an enemy.

. Whatever goes upon four legs, or has wings is a friend.

. No animal shall wear clothes.

4. No animal shall sleep in a bed.

5. No animal shall drink alcohol.

6. No animal shall kill any other animal.

7. All animals are equal. (4)

Yet the commandments are all changed eventually by the pigs for their own needs. For instance commandment three, "No animal shall sleep in a bed", is changed to," No animal shall sleep in a bed with sheets", ( ) so the pigs will be able to sleep in the house. Squealer justifies all this by saying, "A bed is just a sleeping place, all animals sleep in beds. While sheets are a human invention and the house is a more suitable place for us more suitable." ( ) This implies that as leaders, the pigs deserve a better place to live and sleep.

All of this has to do with how Animal Farm starts equal and what the commandments finally stated by the end of the book, "All animals are equal, but some are more equal then others."(1). Which means, that the pigs have more power then the other animals. This is just like communism, because communism is where there are two parties the communists who the pigs stood for because they are in charge, and the working class, which the animals stood for because they are the ones who work. All of this happened so Napoleon could lower the animals' privileges and raise his and the pigs' privileges so they could get absolute power.

Women in Combat Women have played a tremendous roll in many countries armed

forces from the past to the present. Women have thoroughly integrated into the

armed forces; all positions in the armed forces should be fully accessible to women

who can compete with men intellectually and physically. Yet, many argue that the

distinction between combat and non-combat becomes blurred in the context of

war.The idea of women in combat is not unusual anymore. They should be able to

hold combat positions beacause although physical strength matters, the military

still needs the intelligence that women can bring. Also, banning women from the

combat hurts their military careers. Although women account for only ten percent

of the enlisted personnel (Time, 8/1/5/ Pg. 1), they are still a major role in war.

Women in Front Line Combat When it comes to combat assignments and the needs

of the military, men take precedence over all other considerations, including career

prospects of female service members. Female military members have been

encouraged to pursue opportunities and career enhancement within the armed

actually know about the women? Women in the nineteenth century were beginning

For the past seven years, I have been going on summer mission trips with my youth group. Every year I raise all the money for my trip as they have gotten rather expensive. Many of my sponsors have been supporting me on every trip I've been on, or at least the last two or three, and whenever I return home from one of my trips I sit down and write a letter of thanks to them telling them what lessons their contributions have allowed me the opportunity to learn abroad. Just keeping up with these relationships alone has taught me a great deal about myself and about people in general, and forces me, each summer, to assess my own personal growth and document it in these letters.

My most recent adventure was to the lush mountains of Jamaica. There, in an impoverished ghost town, God taught me perseverance and patience through a little girl and gratefulness and humility through a mural.

One day I had the amazing opportunity to help a young girl about the age of to improve her reading skills. I was reading Jane Eyre for school before dinner, when she came up to me and asked what I was doing. I showed her the book and explained it was for school and asked if she was learning to read in school. She nodded but shyly said that she was not very good at it. I then asked her if she wanted to read with me and she agreed. For the next 45 minutes, we read one page of Jane Eyre sounding out each syllable one at a time. She was amazingly patient and perseverant, and when asked if she wanted to stop, she kept saying no! Encouraged by her persistence and invigorated by her desire to learn I was in turn given patience and desire to help. While a tedious task, I found so much joy in watching her start to catch on and recognize some words as they reappeared on the page over and over. I felt badly for the girl that she had to struggle through such a difficult book at such a tender age of , but at the same time I was so proud of her that she persisted. By the time we were about two lines from the bottom of the page, she did peek under my hand to see how much further was left as she was justly tired, but once we finished I asked her if she would like to continue the next day and she said she would! I never saw her again, but this did not keep God from instilling a lesson of perseverance and patience and passion in my heart. This single block of 45 minutes fueled my drive to press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus, (Phil 14), for the rest of the week.

On this trip I also had the awesome chance to paint a mural on the wall of a school. This was such a joy for me as it was the first time I was able to use my talents directly for the glory of God. The teachers' and God's encouragement and appreciation were all I needed to keep me going as the mural was no simple task to paint with nothing but my fingers, a stick, some leaves, and a one-inch trim brush. On the last day of our time in Catadupa, I recruited my sister and a few other girls to help me finish the painting. Claire, my sister, spent 6 hours mapping out and painting the Jamaican coat of arms and I couldn't have completed the wall without her. I also learned some leadership skills while serving as I had to keep an eye on the other girls working and make sure everybody had a job and knew what she was to do next.

My memories of Catadupa are gems I keep in my heart, and the lessons I learned there are innumerable and priceless. I still correspond with a dear friend I made down there named Jody-Ann, and I still pray often for the villagers of Jamaica. God touched my heart with those people in ways they will never know, and I only hope I left as cherished an impression on them as they did on me. Some day I hope to return to the dancing flowers and waving arms and charming smiles of Jamaica so I may see God a little clearer, and spread His love a little farther.
