I know from personal experience that being in a very big class is distracting, especially in the lecture halls where everything echoes. It makes is difficult for the instructor to help each student with what they need. For many people, asking questions in front of large groups of people is very hard. This can almost force someone to leave class not understanding anything that the instructor discussed. And those who do ask the questions, it is almost impossible to hear anyway. There is a lot of confusion in classes that are very large.
Considering the fact that this is my first semester in any college, I can not really compare it to any other school. Now days, just about anyone can be approved for financial aid.
