Healthy means having or indicating good health in your body or mind. Being healthy means feeling good. Being healthy is one of the better things in life. When a person is healthy, that person would be able to do or achieve anything in his or her own way. A healthy person is a happy person. Even if a person is healthy, they could still become ill. Being healthy is everything dealing with you in body and mind. In body, the person could be strong and healthy. In mind, the person has a feeling of goodness and achievement towards themselves. They feel good about themselves and people can see a good change in them. The person will have positive thoughts and not negative thoughts.

Eating the right kinds of food keeps your body healthy and makes you feel good. When a person is healthy, they tend to feel good about themselves and their body. Eating healthy, being active, and feeling good about you are the key ingredients to having a healthy lifestyle. When a person eats healthy food, like one of their daily food groups in the food pyramid grain, poultry, dairy, and etc. they will be able to have enough strength and energy to last them a whole day.

When you keep your body strong, well, and clean, you are being healthy. In order to be healthy, the person will have to eat the right kind of food, exercise daily, take a shower, keep him/herself clean, and stay well. People who are healthy are likely to have the background of being and staying drug free. Junk food is not one of the things people eat to be healthy. Eating junk food affects your body and can make you sick.

In order for a person to be healthy and stay healthy, they have to exercise daily, eat the right kinds of food, staying clean, and that person would feel good about themselves in the inside and outside. In the inside, they will feel good about themselves. That person won't be worrying about their weight or how their appearance may look like because they feel beautiful in the inside just by staying healthy. In the outside, the person will feel good and strong. They will have a positive self-esteem about themselves. They can be able to do or achieve anything that comes into the person's way without having negative thoughts.

Write your Healthy Me, I Feel Good research paper

If a person were to eat a lot of junk food, drink a lot of soft drinks, and do things that could destroy their health, they are destroying their body. If they don't eat the right kinds of food, exercise daily, and stay clean, they could kill themselves faster and they could easily catch a sickness and die from it, because they don't have enough strength to fight the sickness. In their mind, they will have negative thoughts and not positive thoughts. They will put themselves down and also everyone around them, including their loved ones. They won't have the strength to do anything, except just sleep, eat, and talk. In other words, they will become very lazy, because they won't have enough energy to do anything.

So, in order to stay healthy, we have to eat the right kinds of food, exercise daily, and stay clean so that we can feel good about ourselves inside and outside. If we don't eat healthy and stay healthy, we might become lazy or catch a sickness really fast and die. In the film The Mighty directed by Peter Chesolm something said by Kevin was ''Every word is part of a picture, every sentence is a picture, all you do is let your imagination connect them together.'' Although the book was compared to the movie by one significant scene, there seems to have many more differences than similarities. In the movie Loretta takes over Iggy's role while in the book Iggy is the one who comes into the apartment. In the book the main character, Max, seems to be more bitter and alike to his father as compared to the movie. Kenny Kane seems to trust his son more so in turn he reveals his lawless plans to him.

In the book Iggy is the one to communicate with Kenny but in the movie Loretta is the one to talk with them. In the movie all that Iggy does is to introduce Kenny and Max to the old lady's apartment. In contrast to that in the book Iggy does all the dirty work such as driving away the cops. A quote from the book is ''I said, come back with a search warrant, you want to see what I keep under my bed, but I let em have a good look from the door, satisfy'em you weren't there.''(Philbrick 11) In the book all that Loretta does is to bring in the pizza a very minor role. A thought of Max's in the book is " Loretta comes in and Max narrates ''She's got this pizza box in her hands, holding it out like a present.''( 115) The largest difference is that in the movie Loretta is almost strangled by Kenny and this causes a flashback in Max's mind that shows his father killing his mother.

In the chapter that we read in the book Max seems to be bitter and not caring. In one instance Max attempts to peer out the window bit the window was covered with frost. He says to the reader "I'm trying to see through the curtains out the old lady's window when it finally gets light, but the snow is stuck to the glass and everything is fuzzy, which is pretty much how I feel.(115) During

the time that Kenny and Max Kane are waiting for Iggy they search for food in the lady's

apartment and find only cereal and rotten food which seems to make Max even more resentful.

Max says to the audience '' There's nothing in the refrigerator that hasn't already gone bad, so

I eat a bowl of cornflakes with water and I'm so hungry it almost tastes good.(117)

During the course of the book Kenny Kane trusts Max much more than he does in the movie. Kenny tell Max what he wants to do to make money with his son after his ''great escape.'' He tells Max about his plans to create a travelling church in a nice RV to rip people off. During the movie Kenny would not let Max go but during the book he does momentarily. Max narrating says ''The pizza box is sitting there on the table, but my father says we cant't eat anything touched by her dirty hands, so he walks me out into theat dark little kitchen and he unties me and we go through the cupboards and find mostly boxes of prunes and old cereal.(117) Also a way that Kenny was trusting of Max was to talk about his escape plans in front of Max. Kenny says ''Get me a firearm and some transportation''

There are some similarities between the movie and the book ,but overall they are very differant. Lorreta is the main instigator in the movie while Iggy serves her role in the book. In the book Kenny Kane tells Max all about his plans whitch implies trust. In the movie Max seems to be more receptive than in the book. The pschological definition of denial is stated to be an

unconscious defense mechanism characterized by refusal to acknowledge painful realities, thoughts,

or feelings.

Its hard lines and a sideways ending . . . . 'The Breaker will write no more verse

- Lieut. H. H. Morant to Lieut. G. R. Witton the night before the execution.

Since I first watched the movie Breaker Morant about 15 years ago, I have been captivated by the story of Lieutenant Harry Harbord Morant and the Bushveldt Carbineers of the Boer War. The mistreatment of Morant and his fellow officers fueled my interest in his life and writings. Although he is a minor poet, his life story makes his work important in the history of the injustices of man and war. Ill continue to work on this page and add his poetry as I can.

Short Bio

Harry Harbord Morant, born Edwin Henry Murrant, was born around 1865, most likely in Bridgwater, Somerset, England. Morant grew up in England, leaving for N Queensland, Australia, in 188 in order to avoid debt and discharge from the Royal Naval College.

In Australia, he was a breaker of horses, and thus he used the pen name Breaker Morant for the verse and ballads he submitted and had published in the Sydney magazine The Bulletin. It is said that he wrote some 60 poems, starting in 181. He worked in Queensland and New South Wales through his skill as a rider and horse-breaker.

In 100, Morant volunteered to go to South Africa to fight with other Australian horsemen in the South Australian Mounted Rifles. After a stint there, he returned to England and engaged to the sister of his good friend Captain Hunt. Morant enlisted in 101 with the Bushveldt Carbineers to fight the Boers in the Northern Transvaal. In this unit, he fought with Hunt and with two men Lieutenants Peter Handcock and George R. Witton, with whom he would be end up indicted on murder charges.

On August 5, 101, Capt. Hunt and 17 of his Carbineer men rushed a Boer farmhouse and were surprised with four times as many of the enemy as expected. Hunt was killed and mutilated, and his death and subsequent slaughter enraged Morant. Morant captured and exacted his revenge by executing Visser, a Boer found wearing an English jacket, and other Boer prisoners. A German missionary named Hesse was also killed after Morant had suspicions about his motives in speaking with Boer prisoners. As Witton (107/18) so eloquently wrote, War is calculated to make mens natures both callous and vengeful, and when civilised rules and customs are departed from on one side, reprisals are sure to follow on the other (p. 58).

A British court of inquiry was appointed to investigate and court-martial members of the Carbineers who were supposedly involved in these Boer and civilian murders. To evade the negative press that would surround the trial, the press were not permitted in the court and the proceedings were undisclosed. Major Thomas, an Australian lawyer unseasoned in cases of this kind, was appointed to their defense. The court-martial began in January 10, and Morant and Handcocks death sentences were signed by Lord Kitchener on February 4, 10. Wittons death sentence was reduced to life in prison.

Morant and Handcock were shot at the old Pretoria gaol on February 7, 10. Witton served time in prison until his sentence was overturned by the British House of Commons on August 11, 105. In 107, Witton published his book on his experiences, Scapegoats of the Empire.

INTRO- attention getter movie trailer

How do people float in the air and move in slow motion?

That effect is just on of the many special effects the movie The Matrix has.

All movies have special effects. It could have a simple effect like and

added sound or image. Or it can have more intense effects like the use of blue screens, green screens, wires, props and many more.

When I know how the movie makers created their effects it makes it more interesting and exciting. In the movie The Matrix they figured out unique ways to slow down and rotate shots, have characters jump buildings, and show one agent multiple times at once.

I. The Matrix rotating effect

A. The Matrix was a movie released in theaters on December 1 in 17.

B. In The Matrix, the film makers created many new special effects. One of the greatest effects the film makers accomplished was the slow motion rotating effect around Keanu Reeves, who was the main character Neo. They used green screens wires, and about 0 cameras to do this effect.

C. To get the rotating effect, they set up about 0 cameras in a circle around the actor. The cameras are held up by support that is green or painted green. The actor will do the action at normal speed as the cameras around them take pictures in order. By taking the pictures they get the rotating effect but not the background or the slow motion.

D. To get these the film makers used computers to place the background over the green in the shots. Then they used morphing software to slow down the action. Combining the two effects produces the slow motion effect we see in the movie.

D. For Neo to be able to do his back bending movement he was attached to wires to hold him from falling. So when you watch the movie you'll see Neo on the roof of a building dodging bullets from an agents gun, but really he's inside a studio in front of green screens and cameras, and held by wires.

II. The Matrix jump

In the scene where Morpheus jumps off of a building and then Neo tries to jump off took some editing also.

A. The jump is a blue screen shot. First they filmed the top of the building they wanted. Then they filmed a man actually running and jumping off of a building. For the rest of the shot the actors were in front of blue screens.

B. To get Morpheus coat to fly up behind him as he jumped off the building they attached fishing line to the coat tails and pulled up on it.

C. Then they combined the shot of the rooftop and the actor jumping off the roof to get what we see in the movie.

D. They used computer animation software to add the shadows on to the ground and the side of the building.

III. The Matrix multiple agents

The scene where an agent is shot at by Neo and dodges all the bullets really fast took a lot of editing also.

A. To get the shot of the agent they put a camera on a tripod, which is the stand for cameras that has three legs. Then they filmed the actor moving around the roof top doing various poses and positions.

B. Then the film makers took all the shots and combined them into one.

CONCLUSION

Special effects have gone to the extreme with computers. The Matrix has many new effects like slowing down and rotating shots, having characters jump buildings, and show one agent multiple times at once. I recommend that you all go and see The Matrix Reloaded, which is the sequel to The Matrix. It is in theaters on the 15 of May.

Opening Statement

Good morning (afternoon) Mr. Chairman, honoured guests, ladies and gentlemen.

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea has agreed that the international community has slandered North Korea in its comments made in April of 18. The international delegation criticized North Korea's human rights record. Our state believes in communism and that private ownership of property is not allowed. This system that we have has several advantages in which many social depravities and moral injustices do not occur. North Korea does not have problems found in many Western countries such as striking labour unions and social improprieties such as are found between the rich and the poor. Although Western countries discuss the "democracy" of their countries, these same countries are trying to DICTATE what standards we are to conform to. This is a double standard. All of the education and health care in North Korea is free. The system that one might find in the United States cannot be called "free" and many of the citizens of the United States do not receive health services and suffer because they do not have money to pay. These are just a few of the social improprieties that one can find in Western cultures.

It is appalling to see that the United States refuses to sign such treaties as the Landmines ban treaty as this country feels that the landmines that have been planted in South Korea, are needed to give them a tactical advantage in being able to "slow" the enemy, which is us. Who are hurting human rights now? Who is planning aggression now? These burning questions demand an answer.

North Korean government has increased diplomatic efforts. We have been engaged in regional and international affairs. Diplomatic links have been developed with Italy, Australia and the Philippines. This shows our commitment to our improving relations with other countries. We continue to seek ways to reunite with our Southern partner South Korea. A series of meetings in 001 agreed to ease military tension and guarantee peace on the Korean peninsula. Over 100 separated families were reunited briefly through our channels of dialogue with South Korea.

North Korea has shown to the outside world its ideologies. North Korea denounced the September 11 terror attacks in the United States. However, we have been repaid by being put on the United States list as a sponsor of terrorism. President Bush condemned North Korea and flexed its military muscles by calling North Korea an "axis of evil". This is the Americans way of justifying its increased military expenditure and making a "loud mouth threat" to us. The United States has become part of the "empire of the devil". The United States already has the largest number of weapons of mass destruction in the world and only wants more, more, and more. Who is the oppressor?

Winter has hit North Korea particularly hard and with the United States cutting off fuel supplies, our country is in dire straits. It is possible that hundreds of thousands of people in North Korea will have to survive with very little this winter. Terrific poverty, famine and now a total disregard for any human life have been made by the United States. The decision they made to with hold fuel was political and has no regard to the humanitarian impact on people in North Korea. Who is the oppressor now? While Americans live their lives in luxury, pumping up their military, and threatening little countries, we are forced to scour our land, which was so savagely ruined, by Western countries.

September 11, 001

On September 11, 001, I was living in Puerto Rico. That day I woke up like every morning, ate my breakfast, and went to high school. At that time I was in the Business Club, so I only had four classes. In the biology class, my teacher left to talk to other teachers, and when she returned to the classroom, she looked so concerned, as if something had happened. She was the best teacher, and we had a lot of trust in her, so we asked her what was wrong.

She told to us that the Twin Towers had been attacked by terrorists. "What are the Twin Towers?" we asked her. She told us that the Twin Towers were the most important symbols of the United States. They had about 110 floors. However, she didn't know too much about the tragedy, so we finished the class ten minutes early. After that, my classmates and I went to our jobs. All of us were in business, and we had to work as practice-; this was a requirement to pass the course. While I was walking to my job, I saw that the roads were empty. There was not a lot of traffic like regular days. I was walking with my best friend, so we said, "What the heck is going on here?" It was so strange because everybody was in the stores watching TV, and that was the first time that we had seen the town like this. We started to get worried. When I got to my job at 1040am, I saw the office empty. There were just the employers, and I asked the secretary why the office was so empty. She told me to watch the news. I was watching TV and I started to understand what was going on. I saw an airplane hitting one of the twin towers, and everybody was crying. It was horrible. Then, I saw when the twin towers were going down with a big explosion. Everybody was running, trying to save themselves, but for a lot of them it was impossible. A lot of innocent people died. That day, I thought a lot about the terrorist attack. I was trying to understand the reason why they wanted to kill us, and what we had done to them to have them attack our country. I was afraid because I thought that maybe they would attack Puerto Rico since we are part of the United States.

With this disaster, I learned that I need to be very close and happy with the people who I love because I don't know when will be the last time that I am going to see them. Moreover, if something bad happened to one of my family members, I wouldn't like to feel bad because I didn't show them how much I love them. Since that happened, every time I go to school or any other place, I give a kiss to my parents, and I try to be nice to all the people who I love. I try to argue less with my brother because if something happened I don't want to feel like I was a bad sister. Another thing that I learned was that I always need to be prepared for any disaster that could happen. It could be a terrorist attack, nature, or an accident I always need to be aware where all the exits are if I am in a building or any other place, and what I am going to do if something happens. I learned that if I am going to work, I am not going to work in a building of more than five floors, and I can prevent a lot of disasters that could happen to me in the future.

Have you ever taken a bite out of your Big Mac and think what is really in here? well I have ever since I was a young girl. I could not seem to grasp how it was normal to eat another animal. When I was younger, I did not know much about being a vegetarian; honestly, I did not even know it was an option. Until, one day at a family party I overheard my mother speaking to my cousin who mentioned that she only ate white meat (known as a white meat vegetarian). Very curious at my age, I asked her what prompted her to make this choice and decided that I wanted to make a change in my life that I felt would make me a better person. My choice was eliminate meat altogether.

Being a vegetarian has shaped and redefined my life in so many ways. One way that vegetarianism has shaped my life is how it has given me the opportunity to become a very strong willed person. When I made my decision to be a vegetarian, my family was not exactly supportive of the idea. My grandmother being in particular did not like the idea one bit, she thought I was being silly and it was not a healthy choice. One of her concerns was that I would lose all of my energy and strength and would not be able to play in the sports that I excel in, tennis. After two years of being a vegetarian even my Grandmother reluctantly has to admit, I have proved her wrong. This year I am the captain of the Tennis team, playing my strongest game yet and am very proud of this accomplishment. I recently had all my blood work done and all levels across the board are great. I will admit learning to eat a well balanced diet and eliminating all meat was a learning experience and I had to do some research with the support of my Mother to get the right balance of protein from other sources, but I did it.

Being a vegetarian has shaped my life, especially with my family. I feel much closer to them. I feel as if I am contributing something to them in which they would like to know more about and that I have earned their respect by sticking to this goal for two years and doing it successfully. Preparing for our nightly family meal takes a little bit of thought and is a longer process than I or my Mother would like but the results are great. We have settled into a routine where I usually cook my own dinner, bring something in from a restaurant or my mother will prepare a vegetarian dish for all of us. I have found every possible vegetarian restaurant at least within a twenty-mile radius from my house. The all time favorite is Falafel, which is a Middle Eastern Restaurant. I have contributed to the health of my family as through me being a vegetarian my mother has cut down on the meat she serves at dinner and two nights a week removes meat from the meal altogether. In fact, Spaghetti Squash has become an all favorite. It makes me proud to be able to contribute to the health and well-being of my family and teach them about a way of life I very much believe in. Through my experience of being a vegetarian, my self-esteem has become higher. I feel as if I have a better self-awareness on the hierarchy of the so-called food chain. I believe that if the idea of vegetarism was taught throughout the world that we could me a change and help feed starving countries.

Being a vegetarian shaped my life and defined me as a person in many ways. I am more aware of what I put in my mouth and how it affects the mechanical workings of my body. I am strong willed and not easily swayed by other opinions when people do not agree with my choices. But of most significance I am proud of my judgments and capability to live a live as a non meat eater!

My older brother and his friend often meet each other every week in the evening at our home. Both are single. My brother friend usually stays about one and half hours long that I think I can observe them as a dyad. My brother name is Huy. He is tall about five feet ten, quite thin, but cute. He learns and memorizes a lot world history especially Vietnamese history and of course he is a Vietnamese guy. My brother graduated High- school in 14 in Vietnam; nevertheless, he has rather learned traditional Chinese dance since he was a child about eleven years old. Now he continues his experience and wants to open a dance school located at little Saigon mall. Besides being a greater dancer he is also a good piano classical musician. He plays piano very well. I believe my brother has a good insight, for he often gives out deep thoughts. Once he told me that "changing the way you think you will change your life, keep on the way you think you will keep on getting what you are getting." I know that is an obvious statement but he gave me many convincing and interesting examples as well. The other one of the dyad is my brother's friend. I met him almost six months ago but I rarely talk to him; however, in order to do this assignment, I just talk to him last night and get to know his background as well as I can. He is older than my brother, friendly, flexible, and a good listener. He is twenty-eight years old, pretty cute, and look like a successful man. He came to the United State since 15. His name is Dung. I can tell that he is a hard worker. In the United State, at the same time he had been going to 4-year college and working part time for Booing, an electronic Company. He just graduated university in last couple week.14. He is a great student, his GPA was .8. He attended in Cal Poly and his major is Electrical Engernering .Dung can be considered as a happy person, with his smile often appear on her face. I believe that most people will be interested when talking to him, and Dung first met my brother at my brother's school before. Later on Dung often comes in my house and become a friend of my family. Most of the conversations are with Huy, my older brother. They talk about politic, sport, dance, business, the advantages and disadvantages of America culture. Sometimes they talk about what they feel in doing their jobs, in being single. Rarely Dung and his girlfriend come into my house and I have never heard about he tells me about him. Maybe Huy and Dung are used to be single.

Their conversations usually take place in the family room. It maybe convenient because the big family room is quite large that they can talk loudly and sit comfortable anywhere on the floor which is put on a very clean, thick, and soft carpet. A long, soft sofa occupies a place. One end of the sofa is having a 7 inches TV, which is often turned on by me. My house is located nearby a venue, for some times we can hear noises from vehicles especially from motorcycles. Surprisingly one noise that always pushes them near of the family room that is when the washing machine is working. The machine is put at the end of the family room's corner.

The sofa is the ideal place for me to observe them. I will pretend that I am watching TV and I will be close enough to observe adequately their behaviors. In order to get their real behaviors I would not tell them that I am paying attention to them.

Art power point presentation

The human form

Good morning class, and Mrs Dickson today I want to talk to you about Michelangelo who was born in 1475-1564 and Henry Moore who was born in 188-186. The human form has always been studied throughout the ages and this has produced great artists who have become famous in their own right. Michelangelo has always explored the human figure and through this has expressed his feelings, emotions and ideas about the human body. Michelangelo's human sculptures were influenced by the period of time being the Renaissance, which proved very realistic in its art representation. In this period Michelangelo's sculptures were also influenced by his religion. Examples of his commitment to religious themes in his work include " David", " Bacchus", " Moses" and "Madonna and Child."

Henry Moore is considered one of the most prominent sculptors of the 0th century. He seemed to have started the art style /movement of Modernism, which promotes abstract sculpture. His early works are seen as influenced by 'Pre-Columbian sculptures of the Americas,' and the Renaissance period. Moore is well known for his massive and organic sculptures.

Do my essay on art essay CHEAP !

These two artists works differ greatly but show the same devotion to art as each other. While Michelangelo's work is full of detail down to the last little toenail or tooth, Henry Moore's work is abstract and devoid of almost all detail. Some are so abstract they can hardly be identified as human form. Meanwhile, Michelangelos's work uses classical shape, curves that were almost always done in marble, where he has 'freed' the form of his sculptures from whatever material he used at that time. Even though Henry Moore's work is mostly abstract his influence from nature brings out the organic values in his work. He has a way of constructing his works to massive proportions of thick lines and curves. Michelangelo's work is also massive in its size but its always realistic.

His works form is continually swathed in texture, and as he subtracted his work it was always successfully symmetrical and balanced which is amazing considering it was marble he worked with and is unusable is a mistake is made.

The techniques used to create these masterpieces are very different to each other in many ways and some of them are with Henry Moore, he has in the majority of his work kept his sculptures smooth and unabrasive, which has complemented the eye of the beholder. But on the other hand there are examples where Moore has scratched the surface of his sculptures to enhance the surface texture. Some of which with lines that complement and enhance the curves of his human sculptures. He is always very purposeful in his works keeping the scratched texture he gained from his tools to pronounce the idea of his sculptures and communicating that to the beholder. His sculptures take the form of simplified shapes that are thick and curvy . They are always set up so that you can walk around and study them from all sides like for example "Memorial Figure", Three standing Figures", " Mother and child" and " King and Queen."

Michelangelo on the other hand used texture from pressing thick rough cloth onto the surface of his sculpture to accentuate clothes or the facial contours for example. He studied the marble in such away that he saw the fuigue within using the impurities in the stone and marble

Teleological Argument

(Argument from Design)

"How far you think the Design Argument can be used to prove the existence of God."

The teleological argument is often used as the clearest and simplest of the arguments for the existence, which are its main attractions. Most of its popularity is due to the late eighteenth century English theologian William Paley, who argued that although we may find nothing in and about a stone that necessarily suggested to us that it was fashioned (designed) by an intelligent being, if we were to find a watch in an isolated place we noticing just how well its various parts fitted together in order to give us the correct time, we couldnt but help think that it was the product of an intelligent designer. Paley observed the world (universe) is far more complex than any watch, and it certainly exhibits order. How can we not, Paley asks, believe that it, the world, is the product of an intelligent designer?

Order custom research paper on Teleological

The Eighteenth Century Scottish philosopher David Hume, undertakes a comprehensive critique of this argument; and most philosophers today are in agreement that the argument cannot withstand or recover from Humes onslaught.

The argument is quite flawed in a number of ways.

1. It seriously confuses purpose and adaptation. When the argument crucially compares the world with a machine, it is, in effect, comparing an artefact with a natural object. It correctly observes that in both cases we are confronted with something which is not only quite complex, but, importantly, performs a job quite perfectly. In the case of the machine, however, its performing of a job is the fulfilling of the purpose of its designer. In the case of, for example, the human eye, it performs a role, namely, facilitating visual perception, because the organism has developed in that way.

. Of course, if it is assumed at the outset that the universe has a purpose, then, since it is reasonable to believe that if something has a purpose then it is someones or somethings purpose, the question has been begged at the very beginning. The point is this The Design Argument cannot be an argument from design; but rather, has to be an argument to design. If it were the former, then the existence of a Designer of the universe would have been assumed, and, consequently, there would have been no need for the argument. But, if its the latter, then the differences between purpose and adaptation have been obliterated. These can be obliterated only if it is assumed that everything has a purpose; in which case, the argument is really only a disguised version of the question-begging argument from design.

. A good deal of the psychological potency of the argument, as it is usually presented, is derived from the observation that the universe (and of course even small parts of it; such as the leaf of a tree or the human eye) is an enormously complex, but marvellously functioning thing. In effect, the suggestion is that the order in the universe is an adequate indicator of there being or having been an Orderer of the universe. But this is, as it were, logically unnecessary overkill. The argument could have proceeded as it does no matter how the universe actually is. That is, it is we who, when thinking about things, and in terms of our needs and interests, order the universe.

The teleological argument on close examination is not strong enough to support the existence of God, as on closer analysis simply falls apart. Please note that this sample paper on Teleological is for your review only. In order to eliminate any of the plagiarism issues, it is highly recommended that you do not use it for you own writing purposes. In case you experience difficulties with writing a well structured and accurately composed paper on Teleological, we are here to assist you. Your persuasive essay on Teleological will be written from scratch, so you do not have to worry about its originality.

In Literature, authors have the ability to convey very meaningful messages through certain moods and with the use of literary elements. In Macbeth, a Shakespearean play, anger, fear, and cruelty seemed to have been evident in the hearts of many characters. The reader can immediately feel the tension and the anxiety of the characters in the beginning. As for the short story, "One Autumn Night, " by Maxim Gorky, the mood portrayed was more thankful and glad to have life- rather than dreary, hateful and sorrowful. The contrast of the two works is as follows; the author's intentional mood in Macbeth for the soliloquy in Act V, scene five in the play was contrition, bitterness and malevolence. It showed deepness, a sorrowful outlook on human existence. In the short story the author portrayed through their characters' moods, a more uplifting mood, and a more valuable outlook on life. In these literary works the moods are in contrast of one another as they show very different outlooks on similar, sorrowful situations.

William Shakespeare gave a very unique tone to the play- in the soliloquy of Macbeth, his own misfortune of the death of his wife lead him to almost insult the entire human race. As he stated " Out, out brief candle! Life's but a walking shadow . . . " his portrayal of the human race is that of senselessness, and absurdity. Shakespeare used a very persuasive mood to convey the deep feelings of Macbeth. Macbeth's own turmoil turned his faith in life upside down to the point where he no longer believed in the actual meaning of life. " . . . a poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage then is heard no more . . ." This is an example of the feelings evident in Macbeth after his wife died. His feeling now is that life just doesn't matter- nothing matters. His wife is dead. This dreadful and dispirited mood projected through one single speech was a very important literary point in the play.

In " One Autumn Night", on the other hand, the author shows a more thankful and innocent mood portrayed by the narrator. Even though the narrator was alone and penniless, he found warmth and fulfillment within a kind soul. Only a chance meeting- in an unfamiliar place with so little that all the characters had was the warmth of eachother. Imagery gave the reader the ability to understand what the characters were going through and where they were. That made it more unbelievable that in the end of the story the narrator made such a terrible time in life sound almost like a blessing as he blessed the person who helped and comforted him during his time of sorrow and need. Again the mood portrayed by the author gave insight as to what and why the characters were feeling and how difficult it must have been to maintain a peace within themselves and still reach out to help a fellow human being in need.

There is an evident contrast between the two literary works. In Macbeth, the mood throughout was drastic, and sorrowful, and showed clearly the afflictions of the characters. In " One Autumn Night", however, eventhough the characters were desperate, cold, and weak, they still managed to see eachother through a very difficult time in both of their lives, and share within them a kindness- sought after by no one but given freely.

The advertising world is constantly finding ways to persuade people into buying products. One of their most common tools is language technique. Looking in particular at beauty products for women, I set out to prove that the different types of language techniques used are set out to persuade women into buying the product by means of making the women believe that it will do more than just improve their looks. As the subject of my research is on products for women, I used women's magazines and the Internet as my main source of information.

There are several ways in which companies and advertising firms use language to persuade people to buy their product. The first technique is the use of imperatives. An Imperative is defined as a command that intends to induce the consumer into some form of action. An example of an imperative is the slogan used by Schwarzkoph, "professional hair-care that you must have! ". This slogan informs the consumer that the company understands the importance not only to the quality of their product, but to the customer's personal satisfaction. Imperatives are one of the most common language techniques in adverts for selling products to women.

Another advert that I examined was of a shampoo called "Herbal Essences". The name suggests that's the shampoo contains lots of different natural essences. One of the slogans used in the advertisement is "a totally organic experience". I believe that this was chosen due to its sensational meaning and sexual connotations. The word 'organic' is used to remind the consumer that natural herbs and botanicals are used. The words "yes! yes! yes!" are also used and are in a very large and bold font. These are introduced to try and describe what the user might say whilst washing their hair. The words start in a light shade and increase in size and boldness, which suggests the increase in pleasure as you shampoo. Another slogan used in the advert is "start an affair with your hair" which rhymes. This also uses alliteration wit 'an affair' and by putting this with the rest of the slogan 'with your hair' which nicely flows when reading it. These words are suggestive and might invite the consumer to introduce some excitement into their lives by using the shampoo. The advertisement has tried to create a natural image with the use of language techniques whilst also suggesting excitement and fun. This is achieved by using several different slogans that appeal to women.

Similar to this, is an advertisement for a new hair colour for women made by 'Garnier' called Lumia, which I had found in the magazine "Women's Day". The language technique used here is an acronym, where Lumia is short for the word illuminate. The slogan used in the advert says, "turn your hair on, to light-reflecting colour with Lumia". This is a metaphor and suggests that your hair is a 'light' and that the switch to turn it on is the product. The advert also positive connotations and superlatives to make the product sound more enticing. For example "it's like sunlight rippling through your hair, giving beautiful contrasts". Personal pronouns are also commonly used to make the consumer feel safe about the product. "Trust your hair colour with the experts" is written under the company name and suggests that it is a professional company in hair products for women. Again the advertisement tries to persuade the consumer in buying their product by use of language techniques.

Buy custom ADVERTISING ESSAY term paper

In conclusion, I've found out that the uses of language techniques in adverts to sell products are very effective because they play on the consumer's subconscious image of how they see themselves, and tap into the aspect of the audience's lifestyle.

Marketing is the major factor in the success of any business Discuss

In this essay I will be exploring the many factors that go into the success of any business, and finding out if marketing, is in fact, the major factor, or just a minor one of many. I will closely examine each factor and find the strengths and weakness' of them.

Marketing defined - Marketing is essentially about marshalling the resources of an organisation so that they meet the changing needs of customers on whom the organisation depends. As a verb, marketing is

all about how an organisation addresses its markets. The Chartered Institute of Marketing provides a typical definition of marketing

Marketing can be seen as the major factor in a company because it's what gets it recognised by the public. Without marketing a company would have no recognition, therefore no customers or profits, but this is not the only thing that can effect a business. Without and money in a firm to begin with, there would be no firm. There would be no money to build a premises for a firm, no building materials and no money to market their business/product.

The factors in any business also depend on firm's objectives. A firm must decide whether it is to go in the public of private sector and whether it is to be a nationalised firm, or a local business. A local business would have to deal with much competition, and try and get their firm as widely recognised as possible, and gain a good reputation in the type of market it is in.

The size of a business effects the type and size of marketing required. A multinational company such as Mars would depend on marketing much more than a small firm. If Mars markets a product incorrectly, and doesn't appeal to the right audience, that will effect the profit and success of that, and could prove a huge loss for them.

One major factor is the quality of a product, if a product doesn't meet the right standards, this will effect the entire business and gain the firm a bad reputation. It could also land the firm in trouble with the trading standards agency, which would gain a lot of bad publicity. A quality product is defined as

Quality is defined as fit for purpose and as such is not an abstract standard of cosmetic appearance or ability. A quality product is not one that has been over specified nor over engineered for a particular application. A company that offers a standard product needs a system to ensure the product meets the standard specifications.

A company must do market research before they start a marketing campaign. This can be done in the form of questionnaires, a focus group, or using secondary sources of information to find a general trend in a market etc. The company can then decide on the type of marketing that they wish to pursue .

They must also decide on a price for the service they are charging or their product, if this is priced too high, the company may not gain any customers and will go into recession. They must also ensure that they're staff are being paid correctly, and are being treated right, if not this may lead to strikes in the company and possible lawsuits.

In all, I believe that marketing is possibly the major factor in the success of a business, but it takes many of the other factors to contribute to it, because without the other factors, there would be no business or product to market in the first place.

Please note that this sample paper on Marketing is the major factor in the success of any business – Discuss is for your review only. In order to eliminate any of the plagiarism issues, it is highly recommended that you do not use it for you own writing purposes. Have you ever believed in something that others didnt? Maybe for certain reasons you didnt do things because you thought they were something more than what they seemed. This was a superstition that you believed in. For example, maybe you felt you couldnt break a mirror because it would give you seven years of bad luck. The superstitions in Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain include things that bring bad luck, beliefs that bring you good luck and things that ward off witches, and since Huck believed that everything happened for a reason; the superstitions and the coincidences that followed them makes you believe.

There were many superstitions involving bad luck in this story. Most of these superstitions Huck believed in greatly I reached for some as quick as I could, to throw over my left shoulder and deep off the bad luck (1.) This happened after Huck spilled salt at breakfast. Throwing spilled salt over the left shoulder after spilling was thought to avert any impending disaster. This may have had its origins in the belief that if you are pursued by something evil, throwing salt behind you into his its eyes will save you from your fate. Since Huck didnt have the chance to throw the salt over his shoulder he knew bad luck was just around the corner. The next day Huck spots his fathers shoe print in the snow, which could not bring any good news to him.

Good luck was also present. Although Huck and Jim did not run into very often at all. Jim believed that he had the power to cure anybody with his five center piece around his neck. It was a charm the devil give to him with his own hands and told him he could cure anybody with it and fetch witches whenever he wanted to (.) The Voodoo beliefs claimed that if you were to meet the devil and he gave you an article you had the power to cure people. Jim used this to help the other slaves and he was talked about. This shows that Jim likes attention and will do anything to get it. If he feels he is doing something good for someone then he is happy.

Huck and Jim were not the only ones that were superstitious. Though they were the two that were the most, Hucks father, Pap was also superstitious. He would wear a cross in the heel of his boot to ward of the devil. There was cross in the left boot-hell made with big nails, to keep off the devil (0.) Since Pap believed in superstitions in probably rubbed off on Huck. By keeping the cross the devil couldnt get to him. The devil and witches were feared of because they would take your soul. Even though Huck didnt like to go to church he knew that if he didnt have a soul he wouldnt be a person.

Since Huck and Jim believed in superstitions heavily they could relate to each other. Although they disagreed on some of each other beliefs, they both agreed on the fact that bad and good luck was caused all for a reason and not just by coincidence. This all adds to the characters. We get to see what each one believes in and how they live their lives around them. This all helps to get inside of the persons head and helps the progress of the story.

Though his ambition causes him to do many evil things, he would not have had the confidence to even start all of this without his wife pushing him to keep him ambitious. She preys on the fact that in Elizabethan times, men were supposed to strong, fearless and invisible. He first started to lose his confidence after sending a letter to his wife about the prophecy. "Lady MacBeth says Great Glamis! Worthy Cawdor! /Greater than both, by the all-hail hereafter." Act I Scene 5 Line 5-54. Oedipus And Agamemnon

There were many leaders in the time of the Greeks. But there were two that stood out from others. Agamemnon and Oedipus were two very alike yet different leaders of their time.

Agamemnon was the leader of the Achaens, a huge army of the Greek times. While he was a good leader in many ways, he was far from perfection. Oedipus was born of a king, but he did not inherit the throne. He was sent away from his father as a baby. Instead, he solved a riddle and won the throne of Thebes and a beautiful queen as his wife. Through their leadership, they both encountered plagues from the gods. While Agamemnon was a greedy, selfish man, he never thought of his troops dieing through this time of hardship. On the other hand Oedipus thought of this people all the time, and how he could help them to get through the plague easier. But he could never settle for less than perfect.

In order to please the gods and stop the plagues Agamemnon and Oedipus both took a similar approach. They both made their number one priority to figure out the causes of the plagues. But when finding out the causes acted strangely different. When Agamemnon found that in order to please the gods he had to give back his prize, Chrisies, being selfish, he took no more actions to stop the plague. Later he did think of the troops and stopped the plague but still not without getting another prize in return. Oedipus on the other hand, when finding out that the cause of his plague was something that he had done and not being able to face his people, he banished himself from his city and fled to the mountains awaiting his death. Leaving his city without a ruler.

Agamemnon and Oedipus were Greek leaders who had many of the same qualities, both good and bad. No two people are alike. Everyone has there own uniqueness that is what makes the people of the world who they are today.

sdmay be smoother because import shares of relatively

volatile commodities such as food, petroleum, and

industrial materials have fallen significantly in the last

fifteen years. At the same time, serviceswhich tend to

grow at a less variable rate than goodshave accounted

for an increasingly large share of total U.S. exports

since the early 180s.

In contrast to growth in housing investment and trade,

growth in consumer spending was only slightly less

volatile in the second period than in the first. The size of

quarterly fluctuations in consumer spending growth fell

from an average of . percent in 15-8 to .1 percent

in 184-8. As we note below, however, the large size of

this component relative to aggregate GDP makes even a

small decline noteworthy. Some analysts have attributed

the volatility decline in this component to a shift away

from the consumption of goods toward the consumption

of services. To be sure, spending on consumer services

tends to be less volatile than spending on household

goods (particularly consumer durables). Our results,

however, show that growth variability dropped in both

categories of spending and that the decrease for goods

was large relative to that for services (Table 1). Thus, a

shift toward spending on services is at best a partial

explanation for the more stable growth in overall consumer

spending.5 Moreover, of all the GDP components,

consumer spending has likely benefited the most

from the spillover effects of increased stability in other

parts of the economy. In particular, reduced volatility in

all categories of GDP tends to lead to steadier growth in

income and, consequently, in household spending.

Growth Contributions and the Decline in Volatility

So far we have explored the changes in the volatility of

growth rates for the individual components of GDP.

We now assess the extent to which these changes have

helped bring about the increased stability of aggregate

growth. To do so, we calculate the volatility of each

component's contribution to real GDP growth. This

"growth contribution" is, roughly speaking, the real

growth rate of the component multiplied by the component's

share of total GDP.6 Unlike growth rates, growth

contributions take into account the size of each component

relative to GDP and provide a convenient measure

for "adding up" the components of output growth. The

volatility of each component's growth contribution over

the two sample periods gives us our measure of that

component's contribution to the decline in aggregate

volatility.7 Significantly, we can obtain such measures

for two components of GDP for which growth rates

cannot be calculatedinventory investment (a subcomponent

of investment) and net exports.

Our calculations reveal that the most important

contributor to the overall reduction in the variability

of aggregate GDP growth is inventory investment

(Table ).8 As the table shows, the volatility of inventory

investment's growth contribution fell from an

average of . percent in the 15-8 period to 1.7 percent

in the 184-8 period. Inventory investment's

large contribution to the increase in the stability of

aggregate GDP growth is striking this component

accounts for just 1 percent of total output. Despite its

small role in overall economic activity, the component

has historically contributed the greatest degree of

volatility to growth in GDP.

The reduction in the volatility of inventory investment's

growth contribution was particularly important

during the most recent recession. In the recessions that

took place during the 15-8 period, declines in inventory

investment accounted for almost the entire drop in

real output. In the 10-1 recession, however, inventory

investment accounted for only about a third of the

peak-to-trough decline in real GDP.

Why has the variability in this segment of the

economy experienced such a steep decline in recent

years? One explanation may be that during the 180s,

Name Alice Beaker

Class Group 4

Age 14

Write my Essay on School Report - English

Dance Country Salsa

S.T.E.P.S courses Cha Chaing, Dress making, Make up class, Music and long course Dance.

Cha Cha class

Teacher Madame Hoops

Alice's work has come on brilliantly. Her cha-cha has improved at an amazing pace and her points are fantastic. Her timing and pauses are unfaultable and even though her beat counting can be a bit poor, her natural talent at everything else makes up for it but it still needs some work for her to be at a professional level. Her homework is always handed in on time and I feel she puts her best effort forward when completing the work. Well done Alice!!! Keep up the excellent work.

Effort A Ability A- Behaviour B+

Dress making class

Teacher Madame Jives

Alice's dress making skills have been a bit of a let down. Her hemming has been to the lowest standard and I am sure she could do a lot better if she put more effort into her work. Her sequin stitching is rather patchy (literally). Her behaviour is not doing her any favours as I have been forced to issue her with weeks worth of after school detentions previously. Alice needs to personally take a better view on this class as if she doesn't she may fail her S.T.E.P.S and that would be a great shame.

Effort B- Ability B Behaviour C+

Make up class

Teacher Madame Shadow

This is one of Alice's classes which she isn't brilliant at but she knows she is capable of doing it to sufficient satisfaction. Her eyeliner skills are completely up to scratch and her blush application is superb. I feel her effort is at the up most and her mind probably feels she is doing her best but she needs a bit of practice before she brings her self up to S.T.E.P.S level.

Effort A Ability B Behaviour A

Music

Teacher Professor Sprout

Alice has a good grasp of the skills needed for time-keeping and piano skills. Her chords are to at an ok stage in her learning and I feel with further education in this subject she could be suited to a job in music for example taking a gap year in the world of music. She can play three instruments; flute, violin and piano and is currently learning the basics of the art of drum playing. Her behaviour is alright, although she can be quite chatty when she wants to be which lets her reputation down. Over all she is a good student and has some good skills to work on.

Effort B Ability B Behaviour B

Long course dance

Teacher Madame Jackson

There is not much I can say about Alice's dancing as it is impeccable in the sense that it is perfect. I feel she made the right decision in taking the long course dance as if she had taken the short course dance we would not have seen her full dancing potential. Yet again this year her effort and behaviour has been to the highest standard- even though I strongly disagree with favouritism I have to admit that Alice is one of the most hardworking pupils in all the years that I teach. What more can I say you can't fault her. Keep it up Alice and some amazing prospects could be coming your way.
