Blue Grocery Store Analysis

Arthur Reed, warehouse supervisor for Blue Grocery Stores faces a daunting task each summer. His challenge is to maintain a fully staffed business while accommodating his employees' requests for vacation, as well as with increased occurrences of sick days. This issue is exacerbated by the fact that it is only a three-month timeframe, nothing long term. It is not cost effective or productive to hire additional full time employees. To alleviate this problem outstanding management skills are required. Given a challenging situation such as this, an excellent manager is able to provide a productive environment, and a variety of skills needed to glean the highest level of accomplishments from their employees. Doing this creates a mutually satisfying and fulfilling relationship that brings lasting effects or benefits for both the employer and the employee.

In order to minimize or alleviate this recurring problem, it is necessary to consider all sides. First, an employee does have the right to a vacation. It is quite common for vacations to be taken during the summer as children are out of school and the weather is nice. However, the company must be able to meet its needs and those of the consumer. Secondly, the persistent issue of increased sick days. Granted, a company does not want its employees to come to work sick. There is an expectation that if an employee calls in sick, they are truly sick and unable to perform their duties. Where does the heaviest burden lie in solving this problem? Should the employer (Blue Grocery Store), in an effort to maintain the needed workers mandate when employees are able to take their vacations? Should employees be responsible for coordinating their schedules so there are no shifts left unattended? Is there some sort of cross training of jobs from multiple departments that would need to take place happen?

Without a doubt, the heaviest burden is with management. An effective manager meets the needs of its company and employees creating a satisfied group of subordinates. A work force that embodies satisfaction cannot be over emphasized. When employees feel as if they are part of a grander scheme, and they can affect the bottom line of the company, they become more conscientious of their actions and time spent, both at and away from the job. Understanding these points, there are several ways that management could handle the summer months. There are several options that could be utilized to alleviate this recurring, persistent issue. Further examination will aid in analyzing which one of the already mention, or a combination, in addition to others, would be viable for Mr. Reed.

There are several types of incentives companies around the nation offer to combat these issues. A very popular one is allowing compressed workweeks, also known as "4-10s". Utilizing this method allows management to grant one day per week that an employee would have off. Doing this allows employees greater flexibility, not having to use vacation time or sick time for personal errands. It also allows the employee to partake in the nice summer weather without missing work. At the same time, it allows management to schedule absences for each employee during the week. This flexibility ensures adequate staffing to perform the tasks of the department.

There are also different ways of offering incentives designed to discourage unnecessary absenteeism. Incentives such as short term or long term, tied to attendance. For instance, management could offer time and a half at the end of each workweek if an employee worked the entire week. A company could also offer a specific dollar amount in the form of a bonus every quarter. IN order to qualify, an employee must have no absences other than scheduled vacations. These options are designed to eliminate absenteeism.

In answer to the question, should the employer mandate when each employee takes his or her vacation, Mr. Reed has several options to maintain a full staff. Mr. Reed could stipulate to his employees that vacation will not be limited nor decided by management. However, the employees will work together to plan vacations so that there is no overlapping. This assures that employees will be able to take vacation, as well as feel confident that the best interest of the company is being protected. At the same time management could be taking employees from other departments who may be looking for additional work and cross train them on the duties of the warehouse. This would ensure you would always have additional qualified labor to call upon when needed. To supplement cross training, Mr. Reed could contact a local temporary agency that specializes in industrial labor to obtain qualified temporary staff. Blue Groceries would benefit from this by not having to invest in hiring additional workers, and they can avail themselves of the services of the agency as needed.

After considering the problems that Blue Grocery Stores and Mr. Reed face, and the alternatives that have been discussed, one can see the best solution to the staff shortage would be to utilize a combination of paid incentives, compressed work weeks, cross training, and staffing from a temporary agency.

Combining all of these solutions will allow everyone to work together for the greater good; the consumer. In doing so these resources will also foster a wonderful work environment, alleviate stress and create an environment of teamwork. It is a win-win for everyone.

I used to be heavy. I'm not talking just a little chubby I'm talking 175 pounds and I don't know if you guys can remember but I'm only 5'. About 5 years ago when I was 16 I weighed and uncomfortable embarrassing weight of 175 pounds. I also smoked the pot a lot so I had the munchies and I smoked at least a half pack of cigarettes a day which made me really lethargic and inactive. The majority of my family is overweight so I felt like it was normal to be overweight, like it was my destiny or something that I inherited. I wore a size 14 for a good while then I grew out of that and starting wearing a size 16. That is when I knew that I had to loose weight and became serious about. I had a desire to be fit and feel better about myself. Inspired by art I wanted to be beautiful and naturally sculpted. So I started walking to school everyday. Which was about 1 mile there and back, I started eating better foods, more often in smaller portions. I did drink a health shake for a while called Nestle's Sweet Success twice a day. Within the first month I lost thirteen pounds!!! I had immediate results without any hardcore training or depriving diets. I continued to eat whole foods, and I did cheat every now and then having reduced fat ice cream or Chex mix (the reduced fat kind) only to keep my sanity. I was loosing weight fast and healthy and was proud of it. Do you think 4 pounds a week is fast? When people started noticing and complimenting me it gave me more motivation to loose even more weight to exceed expectations of others and myself. Now I weigh 10 pounds and wear a size 5. Do you think I'm a credible motivator for health and fitness? I want to share my secrets to health and fitness success with all of you so you can experience a happy, healthy, productive life.

You cannot have one with out the other, diet without exercise that is or visa versa. So lets start with diet. Eating is one of life's pleasures. There are so many different foods with a variety of savory flavors leaving lots of room for great choices. Let the food pyramid guide your choices. The largest food group in the pyramid is the whole grain group (rice, pasta, bread, cereal, etc.) So I don't know where people get on this kick that carbs make you fat. It is the type of carbs you choose to eat. Processed carbs are unhealthier than natural carbs. An example of a processed carb would be candy or any type of grain that is bleached. Wheat or whole grain bread is better than white bread. If you read the nutrition label on the back of the package you can see if the flour has been bleached or not. It will say bleached or unbleached flour. The same goes for rice and pasta. Brown rice is better for you than white.

As for starving and deprivation goes that should never happen. You can eat just about what ever you want as long as you burn off as many calories as you consume. I know that sounds like a pain in the butt but it's the price to pay if you want to stay fit and eat what you want. Okay the average female should consume no more than ,000 calories a day to maintain weight. A male should consume no more than ,500 calories. In order to loose weight you should consume about 500 calories less. The body burns of 1000 calories alone just for the body to function properly. So all you have left to burn is 500 calories for the women and 1000 for the men. I can burn 600 calories in an hour and that is just in the gym doing cardiovascular exercise. I know if you try hard enough you can do it too. Also understand that bigger bodies consume more and also burn a greater amount of calories. So burning 1000 calories for a bigger man wouldn't be that hard to achieve.

It is extremely vital to stay fit and at your ideal body weight.

Obesity Deaths

Each year an estimated 00,000 Americans die prematurely of disease caused by or related to obesity or being very overweight? (vs 400,000 tobacco-related)

USA Obesity Rates Reach Epidemic Proportions

• 58 Million Overweight; 40 Million Obese; Million morbidly Obese

• Eight out of 10 over 5s Overweight

• 78% of Americans not meeting basic activity level recommendations

• 5% completely Sedentary

• 76% increase in Type II diabetes in adults 0-40 yrs old since 10

Obesity Related Diseases

• 80% of type II diabetes related to obesity

• 70% of Cardiovascular disease related to obesity

• 4% breast and colon cancer diagnosed among obese individuals

• 0% of gall bladder surgery related to obesity

• 6% of obese people having high blood pressure

We are all here for some type of computer related job right? That means that we are all going to be sitting down for a majority of the time. Probably for 8 hours or more. You need to exercise. Cardiovascular exercise is any type of exercise that gets your heart rate up at least to your target heart rate. Anything like walking, running, cycling, skating, swimming, and like I said walking. Just take a brisk walk for at least 45 min a day three times a week and follow with a sensible diet see how you feel. That is the bare minimum though. Once you start seeing results, like you start dropping some weight or you become more energetic you'll become addicted to it. You'll thrive for better results. You'll train harder using resistance training which is weight training and using cardiovascular training.

If you follow all these guidelines and stick with it you will succeed. Just remember if you cheat your only cheating yourself from great results.

The article from Newsweek describes how people work for free in their holidays. The article is written in July 17, 000.

In these days it will be a miracle, because in these days we only think about our self, especially after the terrible thing that happened in September 001. People in 000 actually help people in underdeveloped countries for free in their holidays, which only describes that some people are fantastic human beings. I do not say, that some people are not helping now, but before 001 people actually helped people without thinking that they are from another country, religion or culture.

These people who have worked in their holidays for free, could actually take on package tour, but they will rather help underdeveloped countries. I think this should be the spirit that all people should have. This only shows that people are really interesting in underdeveloped countries and will help these countries (not like some States who just are interested in money and territory).

In my opinion, everyone who had contributed to help other countries or people should be awarded with a diploma, not whit money because it is charity. The other questions are, if you help in few weeks could be enough? I think it do not matter, the only thing I think is matters, is that, if some people are thinking to help other underdeveloped countries for no money, that is what I respect most in the world.

STEROIDS A SPREDING PERIL

The Lack of Success

Was the lack of effective bilingual education a reason for Luis to become a gang member on the streets? Bilingual education is the means for children to express their knowledge. At least today, some kids are retained in the same grade level for not knowing how to read or write in English. If students were to be taught in a bilingual manner, things would be different. For example, kids do not know how to pronounce or read syllables. Spanish is helpful when it is taught the appropriate way. Teaching Spanish will help kids learn syllables and pronounce them. Since this country is basically made up of immigrants, the primary language of many children is Spanish, English being the secondary language. It is harder for small, elementary children to learn anything in a language that they have not ever heard before, meaning that one day they speak and hear Spanish and the other they hear English. This is how children are expected to learn, from one day to another. Bilingual education helps children develop skills and be familiar with what is being taught to them, rather than have them give up at the moment when they experience something difficult.

Bilingual education is Spanish and English teachings at school. There are different cultures that immigrate here to the United States, but the most two spoken languages are Spanish and English. Under The Elementary School Journal many different approaches to implement bilingual education are stated. The most frequent method that is used is the transitional method. "Valadez and Wong-Fillmore offered a concise rationale for the transitional bilingual education model as the best way to ensure high levels of literacy for language-minority students." This article states how this method works throughout the child's elementary education. Transitional language is a program where students are taught in their primary language, Spanish, and then moved on to the mainstream, English only classrooms. Basically, students are being prepared to enter the mainstream. This program is used at the first grade up to the third grade.

Education Digest, explains and states the need for bilingual education. Parents take part in this also. Some parents are concerned because their children have remained in the same class for more than seven years. This article has statistics that relate to today. Since students are taught in a different language that is all new to them, they feel trapped. They are not comfortable speaking a new language, rather than being taught in their language and mixing both languages. For those who drop out of school, they find that as an exit. How can they go to school to understand and learn, when going to school is a totally different world to them? This article also shows the many propositions that were developed in order to be passed. For example, "The institution has commissioned several important studies on bilingual education and the impact of Prop. 7. One report, by Kenji Hakuta- carrying the title 'How long Does it Take English Language Learners to Become Proficient?' found that the acquiring of oral proficiency in English proficiency can take from three to five years and that academic English proficiency can take from four to seven years'." Studies under this research also show that those who developed sufficient English proficiency to leave those classes during their school careers. This is how bilingual education works when it has been researched and studied.

Order Custom Essay on The lack of Success

There have been made many researches under bilingual education, but there is one research that I understand the most. First of all the research gives a little background information. For example, there were many programs that were made in order to bring up this research. "Bilingual education programs that are long term in structure and implemented in using the native language, as well as English, across grade levels, are commonly known as maintenance bilingual education (MBE) programs." Secondly, the article explains how the research would work under the school's population. For example, "Hispanics constituted % of the total school population at the time of this study, and there were approximately 7,810 Spanish-speaking LEP students." Under this same research "Students who are already proficient in Spanish and are learning a second language (English), as well as children who start school with limited skills in both languages, are provided the opportunity to become fluent in both languages." These studies involved research on gender. Researchers tried to see who it affected the most by being taught bilingually and in English also. It also explained the different methods that were being used under the study. These studies led to the point where school, teachers, and students were involved. The method is called the instructional program. "The instructional focus of all classes in the study was language development, including listening, speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish." However, "English language development, for the most part, focused on oral skill development (listening and speaking)." Basically the Hispanic Journal of Behavioral Sciences, explains and describes in detail how studies on Bilingual education do help in the educational learning for elementary students.

Bilingual education is the way to bring success into children. The knowledge and the learning of these kids depends on the way that they are being taught. If Luis was taught in bilingual education, he would have been more than just a gang member on the streets. Having bilingual education determines the future and the success children will have. Please note that this sample paper on The lack of Success is for your review only. Michael Jordan

Michael Jordan was born on January 17, 16 in Brooklyn, New York and was raised in

Wilmington, North Carolina. He has two brothers, is married, and has three kids. He is considered by

many to be the greatest basketball player of all time (Kornbluth). My focus will be on his hardships,

accomplishments, and people who influenced him.

First, I would like to touch on some general information about Michael. He wears number on

his jersey because he considered it to be half of his brothers number, 45. He had wanted 45 because it was

his brothers number and he deeply admired his brother, but he was on the same team as his brother so he

needed to pick a different number. His most well known superstition is that he wears his University of

North Carolina basketball shorts under his game shorts.

When Michael was a kid, his favorite sport was not basketball. In fact, it was baseball. He was a

pitcher on a little league team. He played baseball because he was short (Kornbluth). Later in his life, he

would try to leave the NBA and play major league baseball.

Michael was not always rich. His parents had to work two and three jobs each to support the family.

Before Michaels dad built him a basketball court in his back yard Michael shot, basketballs into a trash can

(Kornbluth).

Michael was not always good at basketball, either. People told Michael that he was too short to

play basketball. Michael now stands six feet six inches tall. He also went to the school gym before school

to shoot baskets, stayed after school to shoot baskets, and could be found in the school gym on weekends

shooting baskets. He also played his brother, Larry, one-on-one in basketball. His brother was only a year

older than Michael was, but he was much better and taller than Michael was. Michael would often times

lose and end up getting in a fight with his brother. This caused Michael to be extremely determined to

succeed at basketball (Kornbluth).

In his sophomore year of high school, he tried out for the Varsity team. He did not make it, so he was

placed on the Junior Varsity team. On the J.V. team, he averaged 8 points per game. He thought this

would get the attention of the Varsity team coach. It did. However, it was not in the way he hoped it

would. The assistant coach for the Varsity team was sick so they needed someone to hand out towels to the

players while on a playoff road trip. That is what Michael got to do (Kornbluth).

When he finally got on the Varsity team in his junior year, he still worked hard. He practiced with both the

Varsity and the Junior Varsity teams and continued to go to the school gym and work on his shooting

(Kornbluth).

Michaels hard work would attract many scouts from colleges (Kornbluth). He would go to the University

of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In college, he was a very good player. In his junior year, the Tar Heels

went to the NCAA Championship game where he would hit a clutch game winning buzzer beater to win the

NCAA Championship.

In 184, Michael played for the United States Olympic basketball team. Michael was among the best

college players in the country and helped the team win the gold medal. Michael was also part of the 1

United States Olympic basketball team. The team was composed of the best NBA players and was

nicknamed The Dream Team. This Olympic team also won the gold medal

Michael was drafted after his junior year in college and would be the third pick in the first round of the

184 NBA Draft. He went to the Chicago Bulls, who at that time were a struggling team. With Michael on

their team, they started to win. Michael was the NBAs rookie of the year in 185. He would also be a

NBA all-star in his rookie year and a NBA all-star game starter in 187, 188, 18, 10, 11, 1,

1, and 16. In 188 Michael would win the first of four league MVP honors, the others being 11,

1, and 16. He was named the MVP of the 188 and 16 NBA all-star games. In 11, the Bulls

won their first NBA Championship led by Michael Jordan. Michael was the MVP of the 11 NBA Finals.

The next year Michael led the Bulls to a second straight NBA Championship and was the 1 NBA Finals

MVP. The following year, the Bulls won their third straight NBA Championship. Again, Michael was the

MVP of the NBA Finals (www.nba.com). His list of achievements !

for his first career in basketball go on and on.

On August 14, 1 Michaels father, James Jordan was murdered (Lee). After the 1 NBA

season Michael retired from basketball (www.unc.edu/~lbrooks/jordan.html). Michael would now try

baseball with the Birmingham Barons. During the 18 months Michael was away from basketball, he would

have his jersey retired in the United Center, have a bronze statue of him in front of the United Center and

would draw enormous crowds to minor league baseball games. After 18 months, Michael got tired of

baseball, especially because he was being criticized because he was not too good at baseball. Michael

would come back to basketball with 17 games left in the regular season. The Bulls would make the

playoffs that year, but, unfortunately, get defeated by the Orlando Magic.

When he returned to basketball the list of awards and achievements kept flowing in as if he had

never quit the game.

In addition to his great feats and huge paycheck ($5 Million this year), Michael also has major

advertising deals. These deals include companies and products such as Nike, Gatorade, and Wheaties. In

addition to all of his other accomplishments, Michael is also a movie star. He stared in Space Jam with

Bugs Bunny. He also has a restaurant in Chicago named after him.

All in all I believe that Michael Jordan is the best basketball player of all-time and will be

remembered as so for a long time to come. He is an even greater man for his donations to charities. What

makes his life so much more amazing is every hardship he has had to overcome.

Frederic Chopin

Frederic Chopin was a Polish composer and pianist who lived from 1810 to 1845. He wrote hundreds of pieces, mazurkas, concertos, preludes, nocturnes, polonaises, and sonatas. Almost everything he wrote was exclusively for the piano. He had his own unique poetic and lyrical style; his songs could be light and dreamy and yet dark and emotional at the same time. Known as "The Poet of the Piano", he is still considered the most important composer from the Romantic period, and it can be said that no one understood the piano better than him.

He was born Frederic Francois Chopin on February 4, 1810, at Zelazowa Wola, Poland. His mother was Polish and his father French. He started his musical training at an early age, starting up with the piano at age four. He wrote his first piece at age seven, a polonaise, and gave his first concert at the age of eight. From here on he was revered as a child prodigy.

Chopin made his musical debut in Vienna, Austria, and after that he played his two piano concertos (Concerto in F Minor, and Concerto in E Minor) in Warsaw. Then he decided to leave Poland to give concerts in Western Europe, never to return. Shortly after this however, the Polish insurrection broke out, and his travelling companions returned home. Chopin was then mainly inactive, and was plagued by anxiety of the upheaval at his home.

In September of 181 Chopin moved to Paris, twenty-one years old, and was immediately recognized for his talent. His musical training had been for the most part self guided, because there were no prestigious piano teachers where he grew up, but immediately people in France were trying to persuade him to enroll in strict and disciplined piano studies. His piano teacher from Poland observed "they have recognized genius in Frederic and are already frightened that he will outstrip them, so they want to keep their hands on him for three years in order to hold back something of that which nature herself might push forward."

Chopin now had the advantage of being a fresh, new, and free pianist. He has developed his own unique style, deriving from his influences such as violinistic singer Angelica Catalani, the nocturnes of Weber, and of course Mozart and Bach. His pieces had a somewhat familiar air to them, but were not harnessed by the strict form that everyone at the time followed. Unlike other romance composers, his paintings didn't depict love stories or paintings, they remained poetic yet personal. His works demanded a lot of hand coordination, and challenged even the most accomplished pianists of the time. The left hand would be rhythmic and unwavering, while his right hand would glide around in the melody freely. Chopin described his technique thus the left hand is the conductor; it must not waver or lose ground; do with the right hand what you will and can. This technique is called tempo rubato. An example of this technique can be found in Chopin's Berceuse (Lullaby), containing a repeating and jumping rhythm in the left hand, while the right hand plays a light, and beautiful melody that almost sounds improvised. Schumann was one of the first of his contemporaries to realize Chopin's unique and original style, using the now famous line "Hats off, gentleman. A genius!"

Chopin had soon become an established teacher of the piano with many pupils. He would give concerts in people's homes (which he preferred over large halls), and was now widely known for his innovation and skill. While visiting London in 187, Chopin started an intimate relationship with the French novelist George Sand. He moved with her and her children to the island of Majorca, where they lived in wretched conditions. Chopin began to show signs of tuberculosis. Despite his illness, he composed a great deal of his pieces at Mme. Sand's country house in Nohant. He made no public appearances for a span of six years, and became more and more frail. His music reflected this, and developed softer graduations.

Sand continued to nurse Chopin until their continued differences drove them apart. Although he was able to live comfortable on his fees as a tutor, he gave several more concerts in England, Scotland, and France, with his last in Paris. He died at age thirty-nine, and at his request his heart was taken to Warsaw and placed in the Holy Cross Church. His funeral was at the Madeleine, where Mozart's Requiem Mass was performed, and he is buried at Pere-Lachaise. According to legend, not one day has passed when flowers haven't been placed on his grave.

Chopin introduced new variations and techniques in familiar forms of music. His many Preludes varied in style, some could be powerful and intimidating, such as his Prelude in C Minor, and others could be slow and sad, like the Prelude in E Minor. He always stayed true to his Polish background, and his most written pieces were polonaises and country mazurkas. One of his most famous pieces is his Military Polonaise in A Major, and it is still widely celebrated in Poland.

Chopin is internationally known for his beautiful and melodic pieces, his emotional and personal style, and his mastery of his instrument. Once called "the Piano Bard, the Piano Rhapsodist, the Piano Mind, and the Piano Soul", his innovation influenced two generations of composers from Liszt and Rachmaninoff, to Debussy and Granados. Surely the piano would lack some of its prestige and power if he had never furthered its art so much. Sources

The Future of Management

Change is inevitable and constant. This extremely evident when we stop and take a look at our society over the last 100 years. We have gone from the horse and buggy transportation system to electric cars and cars that can self navigate for you. We have seen technology explode and take over our lives. Needless to say the business world did not remain stagnant during all the commotion. Management has made, and is still making, numerous adjustments to keep their organizations afloat. The future of management will be, to say the least, challenging.

There have been a number of new trends and emerging concepts flooding the management world. Technology is probably the most apparent. You can purchase anything, via the internet, and any company not yet establishing an E-based business will be left behind. Globalization is increasing and has brought about the need for telecommunication based networks. More and more we are seeing the use of items such as hand held computers, cellular phones, and even computerized badges. Companies are shifting now the way they deal with employees. For example, the term "emotional intelligence" has emerged which refers to a manager's people-oriented personality traits. Employees are now being empowered. They are encouraged to be innovative and express any ideas they may have to improve the company's current processes. Businesses are also moving toward more horizontal structures organized around basic processes. In addition, they are building more team-based organizations opposed to the traditional management structures.

Analyzing recent management strategies, leads me to believe that we will see more changes occur within the four management functions; planning, organizing, leading, and controlling. The planning function involves factoring in enormous amounts of information. You have to set objectives on numerous activities including forecasting and ultimately strategic planning. There is so much information to be gathered that this process is time consuming. I feel changes will be made to reduce the information gathering process. Companies will keep track of the information needed, with the use of computers and new programs, so that at any given moment they can print these reports. This would allow them to spend more time actually examining the current situations and setting premises rather than wasting time gathering the information. Companies may also change their strategic plans and visions on a more frequent basis. The same visions and goals that were relevant 10 years ago need to be re-evaluated.

We are already seeing the organizing function being restructured and I feel this will continue. A majority of the large businesses have shifted to a team-based culture, but this could still be improved upon. Smaller teams are proven to work more efficiently and the way the teams are currently organized they are quite large. Companies may begin to see that the quality produced by a large team could be improved upon if the team was minimized. They may also see an increase in competitiveness within the teams, which for certain types of businesses could be dangerous. If the teams are so busy competing with each other the quality of their work could be compromised, if they were rushing to complete a task.

Leadership is often confused with the term management. Leadership, influencing others to work willingly towards the goals that have been established, is just one aspect whereas management is a combination of all four functions. Recent changes in leadership are proving to have positive effects. Lower level employees are now getting more recognition allowing them to feel a sense of worth and take ownership in the companies they work for. These changes are occurring slowly but I feel will continue. Happy employees are good employees, and more and more companies are realizing amazing things are possible when employees want to work. We now know what type of leadership we want for the future, so the challenge will be finding managers who can provide this type of leadership. They need to be able to balance their authority along with their motivational skills while maintaining their "emotional intelligence." Since the trend is moving in that direction we may see seminars, college courses, new techniques and tactics all focused around the "new" skills companies are looking for. We may also see more communication and psychology required for management, which would give them a better understanding of how people think and how to motivate them.

We will continually search for ways to improve upon controlling. Controlling was, in fact, one of the first functions to be computerized in the business world. Technology has allowed control management to be so much more time efficient. Production, schedules, orders and inventory reports are accessed directly from the computer. Financial statements and budgets are no longer month long projects. We must continue to find new ways to monitor measure and compare so we then can take corrective action. I can only foresee companies improving upon and changing their controlling process in the future with the use of new systems and computer programs that have yet to be developed. Companies could also look to outside organizations, experts in computers and controlling, to come in and make improvements for them. Hiring an outside agency can sometimes be easier than developing new systems all on your own or paying salary for an employee to develop a new plan.

We are seeing how the recent changes are resulting in the functions being modified. We will continue to see the functions change with the new developments and in the business world we are forever searching for ways to improve quality, cut cost, and improve effectiveness. Without realizing and making the necessary adjustments when the world around us grows and moves forward, companies cannot survive and meet the public's needs.
