For this part of the assignment I have chosen to base my task on Erikson's Latency Stage. This stage includes children between 6 and 1 years old. The age I will be focusing on is age in grade four. At this stage school is an important event. My activity is one that can be used as an art lesson in the classroom. The child needs to expand his/her understanding of the world and learn the basic skills required for school success. Basic task is to achieve a sense of industry, which refers to setting and getting personal goals. At this stage the student tries to develop a sense of self-worth by refining skills. I'm calling the activity that I have designed "Funky Junk". This lesson is creative and turns into original works of art. Creatures can be invented with old machine parts, pieces of hardware, garbage and used kitchen gadgets.
