Animal testing is cruel. Dogs, monkeys, rabbits and many other different species of animals are kept in tiny, confined cages with barely any food or water. Feces are scattered every where, and parasites infest the cages. Tests, such as the Draize test, is the number one test done on rabbits. A solution of liquid, flake, granule and other powdered substances is dropped into the eyes of the rabbit. Scientists inspect the eye to see if any effects occur. Their eyes will likely be swollen and expand twice the normal size, causing them to go blind. These rabbits live through and die with the excruciating pain, anywhere from seventy-two hours to nine days. No pain killers or anesthetics are given to the animals, as scientists' suspect it may 'interfere' with the results. The Draize test is responsible for the suffering and death of thousands of rabbits each year in the United States alone. Dogs, cats, guinea pigs, and monkeys suffer even more than rabbits.
